Our History

NESA, a 501 c 3, began in 1984. We were initially conceived through the Alamo Heights Ministers Association, who along with Morningside Ministries, discussed a concept called "networking" which emphasized churches joining together in a neighborhood ecumenical outreach to enable frail elderly persons to live in their own homes for as long as possible.

“Empowering Seniors to Live Independently”

NESA will be participating in the city's Big Give SA on March 28.

For 24 hours, you have the opportunity to donate to NESA online. Plus, the more donors, the greater chance for us to win $ prizes! Your help is important. We're hoping to raise $7,000.

Goal this year is to provide             6,500 rides.

We'll add the direct website soon!

Who We Are

NESA is a 501 (C) 3 interfaith non-profit organization who has been helping the homebound elderly living in northeast San Antonio since 1984. Our clients no longer drive and, for one reason or another, have no one available to help them. With the population living longer, this is a growing challenge in today's society, and this is where we step in.

Whether you are retired, part of an organization, or a parent wanting to teach your children to respect elderly, we Need YOU! You can volunteer once a week, once a month, or whenever you like.

Helping those who have become invisible to society.”

Put yourself in their shoes.....

What if you could no longer drive? How would you get to the doctor, get your eyeglasses, get your groceries? That's what senior citizens face.                       We welcome San Antonio area volunteers who want to help their neighbor, or "pay it forward" and connect with seniors in need. Our services are FREE. We rely on donations. Our Volunteers can get mileage reimbursed.

 Our Mission

We provide services that help seniors live independently in their own homes, around their familiar settings and environment, which is where they want to be, and give them peace of  mind. What's unique about us is that we stay with them; we don't just drop them off and leave them to fend for themselves!

Our Mission  is to reflect God's love by providing transportation and other services to enhance the quality of life and independence for seniors.
